Product Description

INDEPENDENCE DAY, ISRAEL 1988. An Israeli immigrant family is celebrating, enjoying a barbecur on a small patch of green overlooking the beach of their working class town.

But appearances can't deceive for long as events of the recent past are revealed. The mother's childhood sweetheart suddenly appears. Her husband leaves for New York to find a lost friend. Their son is blamed for the murder of his girlfriend. Their daughter faces an unexpected pregnancy. Due to a bizarre coincidence all these stories are intertwined. Now they collide and are about to explode with unpredictable impact.

The serene setting of an afternoon barbecue becomes the battleground for a bloody family feud. An oasis of calm dissolves into chaos, and rivalries, jealousies, and suspicions prevail. Loyalty is exposed as treachery. Truth as falsehood. Torn by doubt, separating by secrets, they are pieces of a puzzle intersecting in the image of a family. Tracing the tangled web of their interwoven lives, the film takes unexpected twists and turns, and gains momentum as it moves towards its unexpected conclusion.
